The name 'Art nouveau' is French for 'new art'. It is characterised by organic motifs; flowers, leaves, roots, buds and seedpods, as well as highly-stylized, sinuous elongated lines, undulating and flowing.

Artists include:

Charles Rennie Mackintosh - architect & designer of furniture and jewellery
Alphonse Mucha
Aubrey Beardsley - illustrations
Louis Comfort Tiffany - lighting
René Lalique
Emile Galle
Victor Horta
Charles Ricketts

Lalique
I've seen a lot of Lalique's work before, but this poppy necklace is new to me. Love it love it love it. Would absolutely die for one!
