Dan Fogelberg

These pieces might look raku-fired, but apparently they are fired using a technique known as vapour glazing. I hadn't heard of this before as it is a relatively new approach to ceramic surfaces.

The process involves introducing chemicals into the kiln as it cools after the glaze firing.
The vapourised chemicals bond with the glaze to produce the beautiful iridescent surfaces.
